Treating Deniers in Prison and in the Community.
Treating deniers has been a controversial issue. Over time the field has recognized that there is value in offering treatment to people who categorically deny sexual offending even though they have pled or been found guilty. However, there generally are some differences between treatment for people admitting to a history of sexual acting out vs. those who are denying. Our discussion leaders will talk about how to approach clients in treatment who are denying both in a prison setting as well as in the community.
